Have you suffered pain in your muscles, tendons or ligaments, but the cause cannot be properly determined? Then ultrasound may be the solution! Ultrasound is applied as an additional examination to regular physiotherapy treatment.
What is ultrasound?
Ultrasound is a technique to visualise a body part using sound waves. The device emits inaudible sound waves that bounce off your body. This creates an image on the monitor. The best-known example is an ultrasound of an unborn baby. The ultrasound operator applies some gel to the skin on the area to be imaged and glides the device over the skin. You can usually watch on the monitor. If the ultrasound operator finds an abnormality, he/she can discuss it with you directly.
Duration of investigation
20 minutes.
Results
The ultrasound technician will discuss the results with you at the end of the examination and you will also receive a report.
