FRISKFYSIO Amstelveen offers EPTE/ PNE Therapy. EPTE/ PNE Therapy stands for Percutaneous Electrolysis Therapy and is an innovative treatment method for short-term and long-term complaints of tendons, muscles and joints.
EPTE/ PNE/ EPI Therapy
What exactly does it entail?
FRISKFYSIO uses electricity, a thin needle and ultrasound during EPTE treatment. The needle conducts electricity directly into the damaged tissue, which causes a growth hormone to be produced by various factors and restores the tissue. You can think of EPTE therapy as treatment that promotes your own body's ability to repair itself.
The needle used in this form of treatment is similar to an acupuncture needle. As a result, this form of treatment is virtually painless. Both the insertion of the needle and the electricity are usually not felt by the client, but may be experienced as a slightly uncomfortable sensation. Within 3-5 treatments, the pain is significantly alleviated.
Benefits of EPTE therapy
EPTE therapy stimulates healing in tendon inflammations whose recovery by the body itself has stopped. This frequently occurs in chronic inflammation. EPTE causes this stop to be reversed, restoring the body's own ability to recover. Other benefits include:
- It is (relatively) pain-free
- Highly efficient
- Innovative treatment method anno 2022
- Rapid recovery from tendonitis;
- Treatment directly at the pain site;
- Relief of pain within 3-5 treatments
- High demonstrable effectiveness in long-term chronic tendonitis
- Local treatment directly on affected tissue
- No impairment of healthy tissue
- The chance of recurrence is minimal
Against what (pain) symptoms does EPTE/ PNE/ EPI Therapy work?
FRISKFYSIO Amstelveen applies EPTE therapy mainly to clients who have suffered tissue damage or for whom a previous treatment method has been insufficient. After EPTE treatment has taken place, we can apply a compressive bandage and/or tape surrounding muscles where necessary.
EPTE Therapy can be used to treat (chronic) inflammation occurring in such conditions as:
- Shoulder pain
- Knee tendon complaints
- Achilles tendon complaints
- Foot pain / Heel spur related complaints
- Tennis elbow / Epicondylitis lateralis
- Golfer's elbow / Epicondylitis medialis
- Sports injuries
- Tendon complaints in general
