Do not drink more than 2 or 3 cups of coffee a day
Swap the cup of coffee for a glass of water and make sure you drink enough water daily. This is because when you lack fluids, your energy levels drop. Make sure you get enough fluids in a day and you won't do this with cups of coffee!
Make sure you don't sit on a chair for 8 hours at a time
Do you have sedentary work? Then make sure you get enough exercise while you are at work too! Take the stairs instead of the lift, get a drink yourself instead of having a colleague do it for you or walk to your colleague instead of sending an e-mail. Exercise will prevent that energy dip!
Don't have a 'heavy; lunch
A hot meal for lunch? Not a good idea! This is because after a 'heavy' meal, your body needs a lot of energy to digest it. So what can you eat? Have a salad, fruit or a healthy sandwich, for example.
Go outside for a break
Provided the weather permits, of course. Even if you only take a 10-minute walk, this will boost your energy levels by another two hours. How is this possible? The outdoor air ensures that extra oxygen is pumped through your veins, brain and muscles.
Do 'something else' for a while
Don't sit around doing nothing, because you will lose concentration in no time. But if you have a job that you don't need the computer for, pick it up! Staring at a computer screen for hours can cause eye strain.
Have a healthy snack
This is because a snack causes your blood sugar levels to rise. This in turn gives you more energy. Think about a piece of fruit, a handful of nuts or a healthy bar.
