Of course, you already knew that our colleagues are professionals. But what lies behind the therapist himself? Is he or she a bit sporty and what hobbies are there besides work? We asked our colleague Daan in the quick-question round-up! You can read it here;
Name; Daan de Jong
Function; physiotherapist
How healthy do you live yourself and what do you pay attention to?
I want to exercise at least twice a week to stay healthy and fit. I have had periods where I exercised 6 times or even more. Now I have completely different goals with sport and for me it is more of an outlet, a bit of relaxation and, above all, fun.
What do you do about exercise? At the moment I do volleyball and fitness, and occasionally I join a kickboxing class. In my busier sports period, I also did football, judo and kickboxing.
What is your most bad habit? I should watch my diet better. I am not a snacker but sometimes I want to skip a meal.
What is your favourite thing to do in your spare time? I like going to the beach, where I am often playing volleyball or relaxing with a drink. I also like listening to music and regularly go to live concerts.
Do you have children? Are you in a relationship? Pets? I have no children and no relationship and only some fishing.
What characterises you as a person? I am honest and reliable. Am a real doer and thus have difficulty sitting still. am easily distracted which sometimes causes a bit of unrest or chaos.
What characterises you as a therapist? I like to think along and have creative solutions to many problems, I also apply this creativity in the exercise room with various exercises.
What are you proud of? On myself of course, getting my degree, my dreamed long trip with my older brother and a nice permanent job with a fun team!
What do you often get to hear from your patients? are you all dutch? yes i am all dutch.
Do you have another health tip/exercise tip? If you train/exercise, do it focused and with a goal. better to train for 10 minutes in a good way than to spend an hour aimlessly just doing something.
