My profile:
My name is Hugo, I am 22 years old and currently in my third year of physiotherapy studies at the Hogeschool van Amsterdam (HvA). Until the end of this academic year, I am doing my senior internship at FRISKFYSIO. Last semester, I completed the minor Musculoskeletal complaints of the lower extremities at the Hogeschool Utrecht. During this minor, I gained a lot of knowledge that I would now like to put into practice to further develop as a future physiotherapist.
My interest in the human body and how it functions has been there since childhood. In 2020, I started studying Biomedical Sciences at the University of Amsterdam (UvA), but in it I missed the focus on the person behind the complaint. This led me to physiotherapy at the HvA, where I discovered that this study suited me well. As I was keen to look for extra depth, I followed the Honours Module in Medicine in my second year.
In addition to my studies, I work as an assistant physiotherapist at football club Sporting Martinus, where I coach the first and second teams and attend matches as a carer. This has already given me extensive experience in examining and treating sports-related injuries. I am not a field player myself, but I can be found in the gym several days a week.
At FRISKFYSIO I want to take the next step in my development as a physiotherapist. Under the guidance of an experienced and enthusiastic team, I want to further hone my knowledge and skills. I like to do this both in the treatment room and in the gym, to work with you for an optimal recovery.
I look forward to getting started and hope to meet you soon at FRISKFYSIO!
